Sometimes locations of the closest boarding house in Negros Occidental unknown to the tenants, especially when they are inside or outside of the city that they do not visit often. Sometimes finding boarding house becomes even more demanding task especially for students in unfamiliar City. Occasionally, they need to spend much time as possible by having personal sightseeing to gain more important information of closest boarding house near from school where they want to enroll. Proximity and affordability are the two most important factors in considering a dormitory or boarding house among Filipino university students. (Brilliantes et al. (2012)

In order to break out the problem, researchers develop a mobile application named Boarding House Finder, which aims to provide a solution to the common problem of all tenants and make an easiest way of locating boarding houses. In past few years, some researchers was proposed a Web based Boarding House finder to provide the needs of the tenants. Unfortunately, some cases of solution was not enough to comply the needs of all users. The reason of not all tenants owned to afford personal computers. Some tenants who lived in rural areas could not easily rent a Personal Computer (PC) or find a computer shop to browse online to access the site of the said web-based system. To help solve the problem, the proponents propose a mobile app called “boarding house finder” it is a mobile-based application that will make more convenient to the tenants especially to those who don’t have personal computer and using only smart phones or android phones. Users can easily download and install the application from the google play store using the internet.

It is system designed to locate every boarding houses in Negros occidental using GPS (Global Positioning System), a tracking system that can identify and locate or make use of the geographical position. This system will immediately tell the user where can be found the nearby boarding houses they wanted to locate from every municipality here in the province of Negros Occidental.

The system is intended to reduce the time consumption by searching possible registered boarding houses in Negros Occidental. The system required Android devices with Android Version of 8.1.0 and above to install and run the application such as smart phones and also in tablets. The application can be downloadable and used with internet connection. Once the user used the application they can rate the application from the highest of 5 to the lower of 1. This Boarding House Finder application is intended only for locating and displaying all relevant details about boarding houses and limited only to the province of Negros Occidental.
