In this tutorial, you will learn how to create your own serial number code input using Visual Basic 2008
First, create your project then drag for text boxes and resize it into small fields just like the example image below:
Next, rename your text boxes to serial1, serial2, serial3 and serial4 for you to distinguish which is which.
Then, double click each text box for you to auto-generate the text box changed event and insert this line of code:
Private Sub serial1_TextChanged(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles serial1.TextChanged If serial1.TextLength = 4 Then serial1.Enabled = False serial2.Focus() Else serial1.Enabled = True End If End Sub
For serial1 text box changed event.
Private Sub serial2_TextChanged(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles serial2.TextChanged If serial2.TextLength = 4 Then serial2.Enabled = False serial3.Focus() Else serial2.Enabled = True End If End Sub
For serial2 text box changed event.
Private Sub serial3_TextChanged(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles serial3.TextChanged If serial3.TextLength = 4 Then serial3.Enabled = False serial4.Focus() Else serial3.Enabled = True End If End Sub
For serial3 text box changed event.
Private Sub serial4_TextChanged(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles serial4.TextChanged If serial4.TextLength = 4 Then serial4.Enabled = False Else serial4.Enabled = True End If End Sub
For serial4 text box changed event.
