Recursion in java is a process in which a method calls itself continuously. A method in java that calls itself is called recursive method.

Create your project by clicking file at the top of your project and then click new project, you can name your project whatever you want. After that you create a class by right clicking the source packages and new java class. You can name your class whatever you want.

And then create your smart method which return a value that means a you create a return method.

and then copy the code below and paste it inside yourreturn methods.

public static long  factorial(long n){

if(n<=1){

return 1;

}else{

return n * factorial(n-1);

}

}

 

//example we pass 5 value in the parameter

System.out.println(factorial(5));

//expected output will be 120

Then the n  is the parameter of the return method which hold the given value

Then you’re done. Run your project and see if it works.
